We’re proud to be home to Georgia’s oldest, continuously operating peach packinghouse. In 1936, Robert L. “Mr. Bob” Dickey built the packinghouse with lumber hewn off his own land.  Today, the long white building is a prominent landmark in historic Musella, Georgia.  At the time of construction, the packinghouse was ideally located near rail lines for better transportation to the peach-hungry North.

Grateful Pastures - Certified Organic

Grateful Pastures is a small family farm in Mansfield, GA. We raise chickens on pasture for meat and eggs.  What does it mean that our chicken is pasture-raised? In a nutshell, it means our chickens eat fresh grass every single day. We move their shelters every morning to a fresh patch of pasture so that they can enjoy nature's bounty of grass, seeds, and insects. Since our chickens live outdoors on fresh grass instead of in crowded houses, we never have to use antibiotics. We believe in ecologically-friendly regenerative farming, so we never use pesticides or chemical fertilizers on our pastures.  We want to support ecological improvement on other farms as well, so we use Certified Organic Feed. All of this focus on environmental care ultimately leads to nutrient-packed and incredibly tasty chicken meat and eggs. When you buy our pasture-raised chicken, you can expect to taste chicken for the first time in your life. It is truly a different meat in both taste and texture, when raised properly. Tender, Juicy, Flavorful. Try some for dinner tonight!

GROW WHERE YOU ARE - Certified Naturally Grown

Grow Where You Are is a small farmer led collective and will be utilizing produce from our site in Druid Hills for the Freedom Farmers Market for the 2020 season with occasional over flow from our new site at Mayflor Farms (CNG) when available.  Our focus on nutrition and culture leads us to grow and offer unique vegetables, herbs, flowers, and occasionally fruits as well as tea blends, herb and greens blends, farm-fresh skin care and art produced with what we grow.

We have been practicing organic farming methods for over 30 years collectively.  We produce our own fermentations and composts to enrich our soil, adding organic matter, and producing our own green manures.  We grow our own starts from non-gmo seeds and heirloom and work in partnership with other organizations to provide educational resources for new growers.

2019 brought with it a shift in our main location.  In that time we have moved onto a private site within miles of the market.  As the property owner is adjusting to having us on the property, we have waited until they are comfortable to have inspectors out to renew our CNG license.  We plan to do that this season and will get that paperwork to you as soon as possible.
